The longest bridge in the world is 164.8 km (102.4 mi) long and is located in China. It is the Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge and is part of the high-speed rail network between Beijing and Shanghai where the ground is characterized by lowland rice fields, canals, rivers and lakes. Its construction was completed in 2010.
