The Ionian Islands are a complex of seven main islands and several smaller ones located in the Ionian Sea. They are located along and near the west coast of mainland Greece. The exception is Kythira, which is located south of the Peloponnese. The climate, the beautiful mountains, and the beautiful beaches are without a doubt some of the wonderful gifts of nature of the Ionian Islands.
The seven main islands are, in order of size:
- Kefallonia
- Corfu
- Zakynthos
- Lefkada
- Kythira
- Ithaca
- Paxoi
The archipelago of the Ionian Islands includes some smaller islands such as Antikythera and Antipaxos.
